The art of strokes created by Kagetsu Sudo's hand produces elegant and practical manner of writing which enchants those who love her style of writing. She also receives high reputation of her arranging manner of letters She accepts a variety of offers ranging from the writings of traditional fields to the commercial area, including the tea ceremony reports, the traditional paper scrolls, the menu lists of high-rank Japanese restaurants, the directions for Kyoto style dolls, the labels of Japanese sweets and sake(rice wine), logo posters and interior products.
Recently she holds events aiming for introduction of free-hand writing which acknowledges us that each one of us has the capability to present the inner-self by the intuition. Her activity of propagation of the casual manner of writing induces the joy of writing and the enhancement of mental health of those who engage in this activity regardless the age and sex.
The artist manages calligraphy classes and is a lecturer of the cultural centers as well as a professional commercial calligrapher and kana-letter artist. Her works of art fill with sensitive strokes a brush creates. In 2003, she was chosen as one of the one hundred contemporary calligraphers selected by a well-known calligraphy critic, Haruma Yoshishige.
