This exhibition in the Morris's Coggins Gallery will give visitors the opportunity to view the work of Bryan LeBoeuf, a young and talented artist from Houma, Louisiana. LeBoeuf holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the New York Academy of Art, where his classes were patterned on those of the Renaissance-inspired European ateliers. Informed by the techniques of the Old Masters, the Realist Paintings by Bryan LeBoeuf incorporate beautifully painted surfaces, careful composition, and almost Baroque lighting effects. His subject matter may be traditional in appearance but it is quite contemporary in its psychological and social implications. Many of his paintings suggest open-ended relationships between the figures he depicts-often parents, children, siblings, partners, and other family members-and their interaction with moody environments.
